After mystifying N.E.R.D. posters began popping up around Los Angeles this week, it now appears the iconic 90’s music trio are officially returning to action. Earlier this morning, their new single “Lemon” featuring Rihanna, was debuted on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Apple Music radio show, marking their first new release since their contributions on the SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water soundtrack back in 2014.
The single arrives accompanied with a video starring Rihanna that begins with some familiar words from N.E.R.D: “No_one Ever Really Dies.” I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this ends up being the title for their new comeback project. With the release of their new single, N.E.R.D. has also debuted a new “Training Gear” collection (seen below) with adidas featuring graphics from Korean artist Buzcha.
