This weeks On The Rise artist is Cameron is Sad from Wisconsin. Cameron has accumulated over 90,000 SoundCloud streams in a very short period of time. His music reminds me of artists such as XXXtentacion because it is meant to speak out to people who are depressed to help them realize that they aren’t alone. His music is powerful and very vibey, so I encourage you to check him out and to read the Interview him and I did below!

Where Are You From?

“I’m from Hayward, Wisconsin. The population is only like 2000 so it’s really small. It is a town known for it’s junkie drug culture.”

How Would You Describe Your Style?

“Emo rap. Most of my lyrics are about suicide, drugs, and girls. The biggest reason I rap and sing about suicide and depression is to show kids like me that they are not alone. Singing over a guitar beat with 808’s is fire and I love the way it sounds.”

Who Are Your Biggest Influences?

“Lil Peep, Chief Keef, Kurt Cobain, and my girlfriend. Without Lil Peep I don’t even know where I would be today if it wasn’t for him. He saved me from a very dark time in my life. Chief Keef is the reason I started rapping ad listening to rap music. Kurt Cobain’s voice is so beautiful and the way he went about life was very cool. My girlfriend is one of the hardest working people I know and I wish I could be more like her, I love her for that.”

What Are Your Plans For The Future?

“My biggest goal is to just get my name out there.I want to be a household name in a couple of years. I’ve done a lot in a short amount of time and I don’t think it’s too unreasonable of a goal. I have racked up over 90,000 listens on my Soundcloud.”

If I were you, I would keep your eyes open for Cameron is Sad in the coming months and years because he is only On the Rise. This is only the beginning for him and his music continues to draw thousands of listeners. Below, I have linked his SoundCloud, Spotify and Youtube.
