The members of Rae Sremmurd have teamed up with Valiant Comics and will make their illustrated debut in an upcoming project called SHADOWMAN/RAE SREMMURD #1.
Speaking to Billboard, Slim Jxmmi expressed his excitement at being involved in the issue, saying “Comic books are a form of entertainment. I get to make all the sounds and effects in my head. It’s just like you use your imagination – you go through the pictures and the pictures are always awesome. It’s like an escape from reality,”
“Shadowman is crazy. It has a lot of twists and turns. It keeps me involved and interested. I can’t even take my eyes off of Shadowman when I read it. I have to finish the book.”
Valiant released a teaser of the comic’s art on their Twitter account on Tuesday.
Shadowman is a comic book set in New Orleans, and the storyline of the duo’s appearance sees them travel there in order to duel with the fictional superhero.
The comic book character might not be universally known, but his story is an interesting one. Beginning life as a jazz musician in Louisiana, the door to his soul becomes opened up — and his soul takes over when shadows fall at night, allowing the Shadowman to hunt criminals.
SHADOWMAN/RAE SREMMURD #1 is set to drop in October.
To me, this is hilarious. But no complaints for these young men doing big things with their dreams and turning them into reality! Congrats guys!
